“Daughters of the Witching Hill” is a historical fiction book based on the English witch trials. Sharratt has extensively researched the topic and created a story based on the lives she learned about while writing this book. It is a heartfelt story based on the lives of the Southers family. Beth Southers is the matriarch who tries to save her family and best friend from the prying eyes and rumors of the townspeople. Sharratt brings to life the conflicts and difficulties the family endures as they struggle to survive the hysteria that sweeps through their small town.
Attendees will need to have read the book on their own — contact the library for a copy.
The Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. For more information, contact Jeannie Sullivan at [email protected].
