Brunswick Parks and Rec to host Halloween parade and trick-or-treat event downtown

The Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate Halloween at its annual Halloween Parade and Tent or Treat event on Oct. 31 in downtown Brunswick.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to slip into their favorite Halloween costume and join the annual “Monster March” through downtown Brunswick. No registration is required. Simply show up and join the parade.
Participants should gather on the Mall, located at 191 Maine St., by 4:15 p.m. to line up for the parade. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m., traveling down Maine Street, across Bank Street and up Federal Street before returning to the Mall. Parents are encouraged to march with their children. Brunswick Parks and Recreation, police and fire departments will provide a safe escort and traffic control throughout the event.
Immediately following the parade, at approximately 5 p.m., children and families are invited to enjoy the annual Tent or Treat on the Mall. Local organizations and volunteers will hand out candy from decorated tents, and families can visit the photo booth zone featuring festive Halloween backdrops.
Community members are also invited to participate in Brunswick Parks and Recreation’s Virtual Halloween Costume Contest. There is no registration required. Participants can submit a photo
by posting it on social media using #BrunswickMEParksAndRec or by emailing [email protected].
Contest categories include toddler, preschool, kindergarten, first through sixth grade, family and pet(s). Entries should include the costume name; the name of the person, family or pet(s) in the photo; and the appropriate contest category. Winners in each category will receive a delicious prize courtesy of Frosty’s Donuts, with winners announced on Nov. 1.
