Sen. Susan Collins and her Democratic challenger, Troy Jackson, were festively campaigning across the state Saturday.
In downtown Portland, Jackson, dressed as a cord of wood, trick-or-treated for votes just three days before Maine’s critical and expensive Senate election.

The costume was a reference to a recent Collins ad in which retired broadcaster Bill Green took a dig at the Democrat and former logger, saying Mainers aren’t “talking about buying a cord of wood here, we’re talking about the U.S. Senate.”
Meanwhile, Collins was in Bangor for Cross Point Church’s Trunk-or-Treat event with hundreds of local families, according to a campaign press release.
Earlier in the day, Collins attended the Old Town Hunters Breakfast to kick off the start of hunting season, according to the campaign.
