Voting for the top spot in the final Varsity Maine volleyball poll of 2026 couldn’t get much closer than this. Greely, the Class B champion received one more point than Class A champ Gorham, giving the Rangers the top spot at the end of an exciting season.
Greely unseated two-time Class B winner Washington Academy, the No. 1 team in last year’s final poll, winning in three sets to claim the program’s first state title in 10 years.
Gorham won its fourth consecutive state title by defeating third-ranked Scarborough 3-2 in the Class A final.
Gardiner moved up three spots from last week to fifth after sweeping 10th-ranked Mount Desert Island in the Class C title game.
George Stevens Academy also won in three sets to claim the Class D championship.
