CUMBERLAND — The Greely girls lacrosse team scored goals in bunches Tuesday night and secured another trip to a state final.
The No. 1 Rangers rolled to a 9-4 victory over No. 5 Brunswick in a Class B semifinal at Hutchins Field. The Rangers (14-2) will play No. 6 Freeport in the Class B final on Friday at Memorial Field in Portland. It’s the fifth trip to a state final in six years for Greely, which last won the crown in 2024.
“We’ve been dying for this for the past year,” Greely senior captain Audrey Ingersol said. “(Senior captain Avery Bush) had this circled since the last regional final game. Getting back to states is amazing, especially as seniors.”
Sophomore Hadley Hatch led the Rangers with three goals and an assist. Senior Kelsey Crocker added two goals.
Morgan Barnhorst, Eva Kousky, Solveig Ledwick and Emma Michaud each scored goals for the Dragons (10-7).
Brunswick took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter on a goal by Barnhorst. The Rangers answered with goals by Crocker, Bush and Hatch to take a 3-1 lead into the second.

Greely extended its lead to 6-1 in the second on goals from Hatch, Naomi Seaver and Tess Waterhouse.
“We knew we were dominant, and we knew that we put up a lot of good performances in the past,” Bush said. “We were really leaning on that, and our confidence was at an all-time high. We’d been working all week and we knew what to do. We’ve been doing our scouting, we came in and delivered.”
Hatch, Crocker and Makenna Seaver scored Greely’s final three goals in the third.
The Dragons played well in the second half, outshooting the Rangers 9-4.
“We were a little bit on our toes in the first half,” said Brunswick coach EmaLeigh Mathy. “They came out (in the second half) and were like, ‘It doesn’t matter, we’re going to play our absolute hearts out, and that’s what they did. The win was on the field for us, because they all played together.”
Greely goalie Liv Clark had five saves.
