Sea Dogs pound Flying Squirrels

Brooks Brannon hit a go-ahead RBI double during a five-run fifth inning, and Justin Gonzales and Ahbram Liendo both drove in three runs Thursday night to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to an 11-2 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels in an Eastern League game Wednesday night in Richmond, Virginia.
A night after he was called on to make a pitching appearance and recorded a save, Liendo hit a two-run homer in the fifth and an RBI single in the seventh. Henry Godbout also slugged a two-run homer, stole two bases and scored three runs, and Gonzales reached safely four times, with two hits and two walks.
The Sea Dogs used four pitchers, including catcher Hudson White, who closed out the victory with a scoreless ninth. Caleb Bolden was credited with the victory after allowing one run in two innings, and Joe Vogatsky tossed four scoreless innings.
