A Democratic victory will jumpstart America’s political engine | Letter

The constant bombardment of political ads should be a warning to tune them out. A succession of negative advertisements cancels each other out and tells us nothing.

Look at where we are today. Economic difficulties, social unrest, a broken healthcare system, questioning of our election process, squelching our free press and the degraded integrity of the United States are mostly due to the current administration’s executive orders and policies, all exacerbated by the inability of Congress to follow our long-established rule of law.

I believe voting blue in this midterm election will get America’s political engine working to solve today’s real issues. Republicans, Democrats and independents working together, along with our system of checks and balances, could change today’s realities.
