When it comes to the Senate, keep it simple, Maine | Letter

Many of my friends, myself included, are in high anxiety over who will best represent Maine in the next election. Incessant political rhetoric, promoting (and demonizing) candidates, promises of prosperity or doom. The wisdom of many coaches now seems relevant and calming: “Keep it simple!”
The most dangerous threat to America is the relentless and pervasive dismantling of virtually every government agency that had been built up over years to protect citizens’ rights to life, liberty and safety. Experience, competence, character, dedication to the Constitution and moral courage have been replaced by those exhibiting one trait only: loyalty to President Trump.
Look at the tremendous damage done in the last two years and imagine the next two years with more unrestrained power. This is the existential threat to America.
Simple solution? Recover both houses of Congress and check the executive power grab.
