Maine Matters 2026

Read all of our coverage of Maine's 2026 election or stay up to date with the latest developments through the Maine Political Report in your inbox or text messages from politics editor Kirby Wilson.

I am writing in response to Jenifer Duryea, who wrote a letter of support for Graham Platner on Sunday, Aug. 23 (“Graham Platner still has my vote in November”).

I am pleading with Jenifer to not waste her one vote in November for a candidate who is no longer running. We cannot afford to lose our state and our country because Duryea and, I’m sure, other voters are upset that a preferred candidate (Platner was mine too) is no longer on the ballot.

Graham has gone on to support Troy Jackson in his place — so, Jackson needs our support too.
