We can all agree: Political ads need to be curtailed | Letter

100%
I feel very strongly that we need change to curtail political advertising over (publicly owned) airwaves. In Britain, the licensed TV companies must make available public airwaves for public political debate at election time for no cost.
Here in the U.S., candidates with wealthy donors generally dominate the public discourse with misleading advertising. I believe that just about everyone wants this to end.
Candidates can send us flyers and we can decide to read them, or not. Newspapers can accept political advertising, but presumably won’t publish lies, etc. It’s time for change in political advertising.
