Tyler Herro's model girlfriend hits free agency after his trade to Milwaukee, court docs reveal

Tyler Herro, the Miami‑based shooting guard now with the Milwaukee Bucks, and his former partner, Instagram model Katya Elise Henry, have filed lawsuits against each other in a dispute over custody and child‑support payments for their two children. Court documents released Tuesday by TMZ show that the two have “duking it out in court” over the arrangements for their children, a development that follows the 2023 trade that sent Herro from the Miami Heat to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Herro’s move to Milwaukee came as part of a blockbuster trade that also brought Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. The deal, completed in June 2023, was one of the most talked‑about transactions in the NBA that season and left Herro heading back to Wisconsin. The trade has been cited in media reports as a possible factor in the couple’s decision to separate, though neither side has confirmed that the relocation was a cause.

The legal filings reveal that both parties have taken the dispute to court. Herro’s lawsuit, which he later dismissed a few days after filing, requests a parenting schedule and an order for child‑support amounts. In his motion, he says he has been paying support “voluntarily” since the children were born. The court is now expected to determine a formal schedule and support figure.

Henry’s complaint, meanwhile, alleges that she has been the primary caregiver for the children for nearly seven years. She seeks primary custody and requests that the children see their father under “safeguards and parameters” that the judge will set. In her filing she references “historical conduct” but did not provide details, stating that she left those remarks out of respect.

Both sides appear to be pursuing a settlement outside of the courtroom. While Herro’s dismissal of his case suggests he may have withdrawn his claim for formal child‑support, Henry’s motion remains active and is expected to be processed by the court in the coming weeks.

The legal battle comes amid a period of significant personal change for both individuals. Herro, who entered the NBA in 2019, had been a key part of the Heat’s lineup when the couple first started dating. The couple’s relationship, which had spanned roughly seven years, was once highlighted in social‑media posts and public appearances, including a “Project Booty Challenge” that Herro’s Instagram model girlfriend documented in early 2024. In that period, the pair had reportedly weathered rumors of a breakup and alleged infidelity before the trade reshaped their personal and professional lives.

Henry, whose full name is Katya Elise Henry, has been described as a primary caregiver for the couple’s children. She has not publicly disclosed the number of children, but court documents confirm the existence of two. The dispute centers on visitation rights and financial support for the kids.

The outcome of the court proceedings remains to be seen. Should the judge award Henry primary custody, Herro would be required to abide by a visitation schedule. Conversely, if the judge grants Herro primary custody or a shared parenting arrangement, Henry would need to negotiate a different visitation framework.

In the NBA, player relocations can create complex personal circumstances, as the sport’s high‑profile nature and frequent trades can disrupt family dynamics. The Herro–Henry case illustrates the legal challenges that can arise when couples with shared children must navigate changes in geography, employment, and public scrutiny.

Both parties have refrained from commenting on the case beyond their legal filings. As the court moves forward, fans and media alike will be watching to see how the dispute over custody and child support for Tyler Herro and Katya Elise Henry will be resolved.
