Somebody needs to tell Dan Kleban that the only question for a senator is not, as he said in a recent op-ed, what’s right for Maine, it’s what’s right for the country (“Washington has forgotten how to do what’s right. I haven’t,” July 14).
A congressman might legitimately advocate mostly for Maine, not a U.S. senator.
That’s where Sen. Susan Collins has failed us: While tending to Maine’s trees, she has failed to see that the forest is on fire.
