Susan Collins will not move off script | Letter

I expect my representatives to have the courage and courtesy to stand in front of the people they’re supposed to serve. In refusing to take questions from her constituents, Sen. Collins shows neither.

Collins hides behind a veil of smear advertising, paid for by those from away who have no interest in Maine. They’re investing in her allegiance to them, not we the people. The senator will hide behind the theater of scripted “debate” by a media that profits outrageously from that advertising. That media doesn’t have the courage to ask meaningful questions. It’s a charade.

I’ve gone to a “town hall” with Troy Jackson. He took random unscripted questions from a big audience of everyday people. He was asked some hard ones. He answered them forthrightly. He has the courage and character to earn my vote.
