Springvale BMV location to close for up to 6 months

The Springvale Bureau of Motor Vehicles location will temporarily close its doors beginning on Nov. 20.
Jana Spaulding, a spokesperson for the Secretary of State’s Office, which oversees the BMV, the closure is to complete “much-needed renovations” to the facility for customers and employees.
Spaulding said the closure is expected to last up to six months. That would tentatively place a reopening around mid-May.
In the meantime, customers can utilize the BMV online portal for a number of services, including title replacements, accessing driving records and purchasing duplicate vehicle registrations.
For services not offered online, residents are encouraged to visit the nearest BMV locations in Kennebunk and Scarborough and to make appointments online to save time. Spaulding also said some AAA locations may be able to provide services, like certain driver’s license and identification renewals.
The Secretary of State’s Office information will release more information about reopening once the renovation nears its completion.
