I am writing to endorse Sophie Warren for the Maine State Senate. While I am often overwhelmed by the way we can treat each other in this country, I must remind myself: community is the antidote to anxiety, and there are people fighting for a kinder America — an America that protects those historically unprotected and thus protects us all.
I see Sophie as this woman. She comes at politics with a human-first approach, and her desire for peace seeps into her government work. Sophie takes the time to be in the community; we will find her going door-to-door, greeting voters at the polls and even replying to social media messages.
When I think about the future I want for our country, I envision leaders like Sophie Warren, leaders who see all people as people and push for legislation that reflects that.
