Socialism works and communism is a failure | Letter
Lipstick on a pig. That’s how Trump handles the Iran war (War? Conflict? Skirmish? Whatever.) and so much else. Two weeks is now five months. For 25 years, Iran has been two weeks away from a nuclear weapon.
Because I’m just as much Jewish as German, I’m appalled by Israel’s treatment of civilians in Gaza as I was disgusted by Turkey’s treatment of Armenians, horrors in Serbs and Bosnia, etc. While there are differences, the theme is the same: hate, fear and ignorance.
Sen. Susan Collins will not break this cycle. The senator voted to support $70 billion more for immigration enforcement.
Do people realize that Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance and Medicaid are all socialist creations? I believe in God, I love my country, and I find undeniable benefits for middle-class working folks in some socialist policies.
Communism takes over the industries, controls what people get to hear and lies about the benefits. Sound familiar? More like President Trump’s politics than any Democrats I know.
I haven’t heard Americans called “commies” since Joe McCarthy. Trump’s pal Roy Cohn terrorized people having a different opinion and, like his prodigy Trump, ruined innocent people’s lives.
“I tried to stop,” were reportedly the last words of the young father slaughtered in Biddeford. Do people really support this ICE thing?
