Sharing a kennel with adoptable dogs and cats: Annual Shelter Sleep-In returns

Kennel‑Sharing Fundraiser Set for September 25th to Support Animal Refuge League
Portland, Maine – On Thursday, September 25, local animal advocates Lee Goldberg and Amanda Hill will host a kennel‑sharing event in the Greater Portland area. The two will open their kennels to adoptable dogs as part of a fundraiser for the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.
The event, scheduled for the afternoon, will give attendees a chance to meet a selection of dogs currently up for adoption. Guests can also contribute to the cause by making donations, purchasing raffle items, or simply helping to raise awareness for the league’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is a nonprofit organization that rescues and cares for stray and abandoned animals throughout the region. Through programs that provide shelter, veterinary care, and rehoming services, the league works to reduce the number of animals that end up in shelters or on the streets.
Goldberg and Hill, both longtime supporters of local animal welfare, said they were excited to bring the community together for a day of fun and philanthropy. “We’re looking forward to sharing our kennels with the public and helping to raise funds for the league’s important work,” said Goldberg. Hill added, “It’s a great opportunity for people to see the dogs, learn more about adoption, and support a worthwhile cause.”
The fundraiser will be open to all residents of Greater Portland and beyond. Organizers encourage families, students, and animal lovers to attend. The league will provide information about its current adoption listings and how people can get involved in rescue efforts.
Tickets and donations can be directed to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland through its website or at the event location. For more details on the schedule, participating dogs, and how to volunteer or donate, contact the league at (555) 123‑4567 or visit www.animalrefugeleagump.com.
