Sea Dogs snap 3-game skid with win over Rumble Ponies

The Portland Sea Dogs hit three home runs on their way to a 10-3 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in an Eastern League game on Friday at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Jack Winnay hit a two-run home run in the first inning as Portland jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Tyler McDonough added a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth and Nelly Taylor added a two-run shot in the seventh.
Devin Futrell earn his first Double-A win in his second start with the Sea Dogs, allowing two runs on five hits in five innings. He struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.
Winnay went 3 for 5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Brooks Brannon, Miguel Bleis and Yoeilin Cespesdes also had two hits each.
Portland snaps a three-game losing streak with the win and improves to 23-20 in the second half, 2 1/2 games behind Reading in the Northeast Division. Binghamton is 20-23, 5 1/2 back.
