Caleb Ricketts hit his third home run in two days since his demotion from Triple-A and drove in four runs, leading the Reading Fightin Phils to a 6-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game Wednesday night in Reading, Pennsylvania. Ricketts, a catcher and first baseman, was hitting .173 with four home runs for Lehigh Valley before he was reassigned to Reading. After slugging a grand slam and a two-run homer Tuesday, he put the Fighting Phils in front with a three-run blast off Blake Wehunt in the first inning. Former Sea Dogs player Alex Binelas made it 6-2 with a solo home run in the eighth. Johanfran Garcia was 3 for 5 and drove in two runs for the Sea Dogs. He doubled home Marvin Alcantara in the third inning, then hit another double in the eighth that scored Franklin Arias. He struck out in the ninth with two runners on, however, after Portland scored twice on an error and a fielder’s choice. Portland has lost five of its last six games, dropping to 29-29.
