Portland Sea Dogs right-handed pitcher Max Carlson was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Carlson pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief last week. He didn’t allow a hit, walked one and struck out seven.
In a 4-3 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on July 21, Carlson walked one and struck out three in 2 2/3 innings. In an 8-1 win over Binghamton on July 24, he struck out four in three scoreless innings.
Carlson has made 26 appearances this spring, including one start. He is 3-2 with a 5.03 ERA in 59 innings. He has 65 strikeouts and 13 walks.
This is the sixth time a Sea Dogs pitcher has been named the Eastern League pitcher of the week.
