Sea Dogs give up 7 runs in 5th inning, lose to Curve

The Altoona Curve scored seven runs in the fifth inning on their way to a 12-8 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game on Tuesday at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Callen Moss hit a grand slam, Lonnie White Jr. and Derek Berg each had an RBI double, and Keiner Delgado an RBI single in the fifth as Altoona built a 9-0 lead.
Caden Rose hit a grand slam and Franklin Arias a solo shot (his 16th of the season) in the bottom of the fifth for Portland. Nelly Taylor added a two-run homer in the sixth and Nate Baez hit a solo homer in the seventh to get the Sea Dogs within a run, 9-8.
Altoona scored three insurance runs in the eight on a wild pitch and a two-run single by Titus Dumitru.
