Brooks Brannon belted a tiebreaking home run in the top of the ninth inning, lifting the Portland Sea Dogs to a 4-3 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in an Eastern League game Tuesday night in Binghamton, New York.

The Rumble Ponies erased a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the eighth, scoring three runs with the help of two walks, a hit by pitch with the bases loaded, and a wild pitch that allowed the tying run to score.

Brannon, though, connected with one out in the ninth for his 16th home run of the season.

In the wake of Blake Wehunt’s promotion to Triple-A Worcester, the Sea Dogs used Caleb Bowden as an opener and followed with Max Carlson, Erik Rivera, Jeremy Wu-Yelland and Cooper Adams. Adams, who entered with two outs in the eighth, was credited with his team high eighth win.

Ronald Rosario singled home the game’s first run in the first inning after Will Turner was hit by a pitch and advanced on a single by Jack Winnay and a flyout.

Winnay smacked a long home run to left center in the third inning. Rosario then made it 3-0 in the fourth with his seventh home run in his last eight games, well beyond the wall in left center.
