Sea Dogs drop series finale in Binghamton

Jose Ramos was 4 for 5 with a home run and five Binghamton pitchers held the Portland Sea Dogs to three hits as the Rumble Ponies won 8-4 in their series finale Sunday in Binghamton, New York.
The Rumble Ponies (36-60) won the last two games to split the six-game series.
Ramos, who scored three runs and drove in three, capped his afternoon with an eighth-inning, two-run homer off Sea Dogs pitcher Tyler Davis.
John Bay scored two runs and Wyatt Young had two RBI for Binghamton, which banged out 15 hits. Justin Armbruester (1-0) earned the win with 1 1/3 innings of perfect relief after replacing starter Bryce Conley, who allowed two runs and four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings.
Jack Winnay and Mason White homered for Portland (51-44), both off Conley. Sea Dogs starter Gage Ziehl allowed seven hits and two earned runs over three innings, and reliever Caleb Bolden (2-4) took the loss after allowing four hits and three earned runs over two innings.
