Sea Dogs comeback bid thwarted by Flying Squirrels

Trevor Cohen and Dayson Croes hit RBI singles in the bottom of the sixth inning to spoil a comeback by the Portland Sea Dogs and lift the Richmond Flying Squirrels to an 8-7 win in an Eastern League game Tuesday night in Richmond, Virginia.
The Sea Dogs trailed 4-0 after three innings and 6-2 entering the sixth, when they tied the game with a two-out rally. Max Ferguson doubled home Will Turner, Justin Gonzales hit an RBI single, and Henry Godbout followed with a two-run single.

Richmond regained the lead in the bottom half of the sixth, however, then survived another Portland comeback bid in the eighth, cutting down the potential tying run at the plate after Johanfran Garcia sliced the deficit to 8-7 with an RBI single.
Gonzales, the No. 2 prospect in the Boston Red Sox farm system, slugged a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
