A Sanford man was killed on Thursday night in a crash in Somersworth, New Hampshire, according to the Somersworth Police Department.

According to a news release from Somersworth police, Mark Shuttleworth, 43, appeared to be driving south when he crossed the yellow line and struck another vehicle head on. Shuttleworth was pronounced dead on the scene.

The operator of the other vehicle was transported for medical treatment and was last known to be in stable condition, according to the release. Police said the other operator is cooperating with the investigation.

Somersworth police, along with the Strafford County Regional Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, conducted an investigation into the accident. Evidence at the scene led police to believe Shuttleworth may have been impaired.

Police said an investigation is still ongoing.
