Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport sold for $14.25 million

Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport has been acquired for $14.25 million by a company that owns more than 40 campgrounds and RV parks nationwide.
Streamside Parks LLC announced the purchase in a news release Wednesday. The sale comes after Sandy Pines’ previous owner filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
According to court documents, the sale was initially set at $13.5 million before being revised to $14.25 million. Streamside has acquired the entire 46-acre property, featuring over 200 campsites, a general store, a heated saltwater pool, maintenance facilities and more.

Streamside said Atlantic Hospitality, the park’s previous owner, would continue managing the park for the 2026 season to prevent disruptions to guests.
Atlantic Hospitality Managing Partner Justin Grimes said in the release that the company’s highest priority was “finding the right steward to carry (Sandy Pines’) legacy forward.”
The company confirmed all current reservations for the 2026 season will be honored.

Sandy Pines had originally been scheduled for a foreclosure auction in March before a brief postponement due to Atlantic Hospitality’s bankruptcy proceedings; it went back up for sale in May.

Streamside chief growth officer Jen Milam said in the release that the company had admired the property for quite some time.
“We are dedicated to preserving its deep ties to the local community, honoring its unique coastal character, and ensuring it remains a premier Northeast outdoor destination for generations to come,” Milam said.
The acquisition was initially approved by Maine bankruptcy Judge Michael Fagone in June and was handled by Keenan Auction Company in coordination with commercial real estate groups Hunneman and CBRE.
Stefan Keenan, a broker from Keenan Auction Company, said Sandy Pines drew strong interest from potential buyers across the U.S., plus some companies from abroad. But Streamside was ultimately the highest bidder, and he said the sale seemed to leave everyone satisfied.
