Rep. Jordan to Newsmax: Dems' Plans for US Are 'Frightening'

Rep. Jim Jordan, a Republican congressman from Ohio, urged party members to openly address citizens’ worries about rising costs during a Wednesday briefing. He also reminded voters that the GOP has, according to the House speaker, delivered on its pledges and warned that the Democratic agenda could jeopardize those gains.

Jordan, who has been a leading figure in the House Freedom Caucus, emphasized the need for transparency. “We must be candid about Americans’ concerns over high costs,” he said, noting that many voters feel the weight of inflation, rising food and energy bills, and increased healthcare expenses. The congressman argued that acknowledging these issues head‑on would reinforce the party’s commitment to economic stability.

He added that the Republican Party has already made progress on its campaign promises. “Our record shows we have delivered on our promises,” Jordan said, citing tax cuts, deregulation efforts, and judicial appointments as evidence. He urged colleagues to highlight these achievements in upcoming elections to counter the narrative that the GOP has failed to keep its word.

Jordan also warned that Democratic lawmakers could shift the country’s trajectory if they gain control. “We must keep our electorate informed about the Democrats’ agenda,” he said, implying that a Democratic majority could reverse reforms on the economy, judiciary, and other policy areas. The congressman called for a coordinated effort among GOP officials, media outlets, and grassroots activists to counter the opposition’s messaging.

The remarks were delivered at a press event in Washington, D.C., where Jordan met with reporters and policy analysts. He noted that the coming midterm elections would serve as a litmus test for the party’s ability to address cost-of-living concerns while staying true to its platform.

Ohio voters, as well as national constituents, will likely weigh Jordan’s comments in the days leading up to the elections. Whether the message resonates will depend on how effectively the Republican Party can translate its record into tangible policy solutions that address everyday expenses for Americans.
