Property Owner Finds Fire While Removing Old Flooring

A fire was discovered on a residential property early this week when the owner was removing old hardwood flooring. The owner reported that the blaze began after the floorboards had been cut and removed for a renovation project. Fire officials said the discovery came before the fire spread beyond the immediate area.

Firefighters from the local department responded quickly to the scene and were able to control the flames before significant damage occurred. The fire was reported as contained, and no injuries were reported among occupants or emergency responders.

Investigators have not yet identified a cause for the fire. “The property owner discovered the fire after old flooring had been cut and removed,” one official said. Authorities are continuing their assessment of the scene to determine how the fire started and to ensure that the building is safe for future work.
