Eleven Maine state youth track and field records fell at the Val Foss USATF Maine State Track and Field Championship held Aug. 8 at Cony High in Augusta. The meet was for ages 5-14 with 35 teams and nearly 1,000 competitors taking part. Scarborough Track Club repeated as the overall champion and also won the female title. The Panther Track Club, based in Poland, was a close second overall and won the male competition.

Individual record breakers were: Connor Caizzo, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, boys 9-10 1,500 meter, 5 minutes, 11.2 seconds; Nellie Burgess, Healthy Hornets Track club, girls 9-10 high jump, 4 feet, 5 1/2 inches; Isaac Pawlak, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, boys 11-12 discus, 113-10 3/4; Derek Dixon, Skowhegan Parks & Rec, boys 11-12 400 meter, 1:01.61; Aiden Dolley, Panther Track, boys 11-12 800 meter racewalk, 3:54.48; Jesse Patkus, Lakers Track Club, boys 11-12 80 meter hurdles, 13.31; Sophia Hartigan, Freeport Family Track & Field, girls 11-12 200 meters, 27.38; and Elsie Fitzpatrick, Bangor Ram Track Club, girls 11-12 triple jump, 32-5 3/4.

Relay records were set by the Cumberland/North Yarmouth boys 9-10 4×100, 1:01.46; Scarborough Track girls 9-10 4×400, 5:15.36; and Auburn Parks & Recreation Track, boys 13-14 4×100, 48.91.
