Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, dead at 27

Presley Gerber, 27, Dies After Long‑Term Battle With Addiction
Family requests privacy, autopsy pending
Los Angeles, CA – The modeling world lost a familiar face this week when Presley Gerber, the 27‑year‑old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died at a Los Angeles County rehabilitation facility on Sunday. The family, speaking through a spokesperson, requested privacy during what they described as a “very difficult and painful time.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Gerber died on Sunday, but an autopsy has not yet been completed. No official cause of death has been released.
Gerber’s life was marked by both high fashion and personal struggle. He signed with IMG Models at the age of 15, and made his runway debut at Moschino’s 2016 Los Angeles show. Over the years he walked for top houses, including Calvin Klein, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, and Tommy Hilfiger, and appeared in campaigns for several major brands.
In addition to his modeling work, Gerber was an outspoken advocate for mental‑health awareness. In December 2025, he posted an Instagram video—later deleted—discussing his use of prescription medications such as Xanax, Valium, and buprenorphine, as well as his panic attacks and journey toward recovery. He later told People magazine, “Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now. I want to reach people in many ways… so that a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it.”
Gerber’s openness about his decade‑long struggle with drug addiction was highlighted in a Vogue cover story featuring his sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber, published in August. Kaia, 24, said the family’s private nature was “very, very…private,” and reflected on how her brother’s candidness helped her understand the need for honesty. “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” she told Vogue. “I think that’s also why I started to self‑identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.” She added that her brother’s decision to be “very human for everyone” made it “impossible to hide from the world.”
The Gerber family’s public statements have been limited to a single note: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.” Cindy Crawford’s representatives confirmed the death to Fox News Digital, echoing the family’s wish for discretion.
Gerber’s legal history includes a 2019 DUI charge. He was also a participant in a 2023 Studio 22 podcast episode where he discussed his mental‑health challenges and the importance of supporting others in similar situations.
As the modeling community mourns, the focus remains on a life lived in the public eye while battling private demons. The family’s request for privacy underscores the enduring impact of mental‑health struggles and the ongoing conversation about transparency, support, and healing within families and the wider industry.
