Once again, the Maine Sunday Telegram published an excellent article on architecture by Jon Calame, this time on Route 1 ([“On its 100th anniversary, Route 1 in Maine is a glimpse of the way Vacationland once was,”](https://www.pressherald.com/2026/06/10/on-its-100th-anniversary-route-1-in-maine-is-a-glimpse-of-the-way-vacationland-once-was-column/) June 14).
His word choices and descriptions are delightfully unusual. This is an applause-worthy writer.
