Portland police seeking witnesses in Tukey’s Bridge homicide

Portland police are asking people who may have witnessed the fatal stabbing on Tukey’s Bridge last week to contact investigators.
Police say the investigation into the killing of 21-year-old Julian Nadeau is ongoing. Glen Rodney, 58, of Portland, was arrested and charged with murder in her death. He will remain in custody at the Cumberland County Jail without bail pending his next court appearance.

Nadeau was fatally stabbed while walking with friends on Back Cove Trail on the evening of Aug. 5, according to court documents. Rodney allegedly approached the group on a bicycle and yelled at them, resulting in an argument that escalated.
The suspect then pulled out a knife and chased Nadeau and her friend along the trail on the southbound side of Interstate 295, according to court documents. He is accused of jumping on top of Nadeau and stabbing her once in the chest.
Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. that day, including the following people who were on or near the bridge around that time:
- Three men walking on the bridge path who were wearing white T-shirts and speaking Spanish.
- A man and woman who appeared to be in their early 20s, wearing helmets and biking on the bridge path from the Back Cove area.
- The driver of a light tan or gold pickup truck who pulled over on the bridge before police arrived.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area, or has information about people who were, to call them at 207-874-8533 or to send a text to the department by texting “PPDME” and a message to 847411.
