Visitor Seriously Injured on Batman Roller Coaster at Parque Warner Madrid

A 49-year-old park guest sustained serious leg injuries Saturday when an accident occurred on a Batman-themed roller coaster at Parque Warner Madrid, according to emergency officials and park representatives.

The incident took place on the Batman Gotham City Escape ride, which opened at the Spanish amusement park in 2023. Emergency responders transported the injured visitor by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where medical staff treated an open fracture to the left leg and a closed fracture to the right leg, Europa Press reported.

Park officials confirmed the ride was shut down immediately following the incident. Emergency procedures were activated without delay, and medical personnel attended to the affected guest at the scene.

"We can confirm that the affected person was attended to immediately by emergency medical services," Parque Warner stated in a social media post.

Witnesses described a scene of distress among other park visitors. Juan José Molina, who was at the park during the incident, said some guests experienced panic and anxiety.

"There were people crying and having anxiety attacks," Molina told reporters.

The Batman Gotham City Escape made history as Spain's first multi-launch roller coaster. The attraction propels riders forward through three high-speed launches and features four inversions, including moments when guests hang briefly upside down.

Parque Warner announced the roller coaster will remain closed while park management conducts a review of the incident in coordination with relevant authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details about the cause of the accident have been released.

The park declined to provide additional comment pending the conclusion of the review process.
