A truck that left the roadway and collided with two homes on Main Street has sparked a police investigation in a small Maine town.

According to local authorities, the vehicle veered off the road, crossed Main Street, and struck the front of the first house before continuing to hit a second residence. The crashes caused extensive damage to both properties, with shattered windows and debris scattered across the street.

“Police are working to determine the circumstances that led to the truck leaving the roadway and impacting two residences,” an officer said. “At this time, we do not have information about any injuries or fatalities.”

Emergency crews arrived quickly. The town fire department and a state police response unit responded to the scene, clearing debris and ensuring the safety of nearby residents. Several residents reported hearing a loud crash and seeing a vehicle traveling at high speed before it struck the homes.

Police have cordoned off Main Street and the surrounding area to investigate the wreckage. Traffic has been temporarily rerouted to accommodate the closed lanes. No traffic camera footage has yet been released, and investigators are collecting evidence from the vehicle’s path, including skid marks and any possible mechanical issues.

The driver of the truck has not been identified, and authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the incident or has information about the vehicle’s origin to come forward. “If you saw this crash or have any details that could help our investigation, please contact the town police department,” the officer added.

While the extent of the damage to the residences is still being assessed, both homes were evacuated after the impact. The local utility companies are monitoring for potential gas leaks or other hazards that may pose additional risks to the community.

Residents in the area have expressed concern about safety on Main Street, and the town council is scheduled to meet later this week to discuss possible improvements to road signage and speed controls in the vicinity.

Police continue to investigate the incident and will release additional updates as more information becomes available.
