One dies after school bus and motorcycle crash in Augusta

Augusta, Maine – Cony Street, which had been shut to traffic for several weeks, is set to reopen shortly, Augusta police officials announced today. “Cony Street is expected to reopen soon,” a police spokesperson said.
The closure had forced commuters and residents to use detours, causing noticeable traffic delays in the downtown area. Police said the city is working to clear the roadway and address any outstanding issues before the street resumes normal use. While the specific reasons for the shutdown were not disclosed, officials urged drivers to continue using alternate routes until the reopening.
Once repairs are completed, traffic flow on Cony Street should return to normal. The police will keep the public informed of any updates as the street’s reopening approaches.
