Odell Beckham Jr signs with Giants in Big Blue reunion

Odell Beckham Jr. is back where it all started.
The veteran wide receiver signed with the New York Giants on Monday, seven years after the team traded him to the Cleveland Browns. The reunion adds experienced depth to a Giants receiving corps that could be missing one of its top targets when the season opens.
Malik Nabers, the team's star rookie selection last year, remains uncertain for Week 1 after undergoing a second surgery to remove scar tissue from a knee injury he sustained during the previous season.
Beckham spent the entire 2025 campaign away from football, dedicating the time to getting himself back into playing shape. Before that, he appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, catching nine passes for 55 yards.
The 32-year-old's most recent full NFL season came in 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens, where Giants head coach John Harbaugh was in his first year leading the franchise. Beckham played 14 games that year, recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns while working his way back from a torn ACL suffered during Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.
"He's in such a good place in terms of his humility," Harbaugh said during a pre-draft workout Beckham had with the team in April. "He wants to be part of a team. He wants to contribute. He wants to help the young guys. That's what he's talking about doing. He still thinks he has some juice, and he looked good in the workout."
Harbaugh acknowledged that the version of Beckham joining the Giants will differ from the player New York drafted 12th overall out of LSU in 2014.
"You still got to be able to play," Harbaugh said. "It's not going to be the old Odell. It's going to be a different version, the 2.0 Odell I guess you would say."
During his first stint with the Giants, Beckham established himself as one of the league's most electrifying playmakers. Over five seasons, he compiled 390 catches for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns, earning three Pro Bowl selections and winning the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He also made one of the most memorable catches in NFL history, wrestling away a contested touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys while battling a pass interference penalty.
Despite later struggles with injuries and inconsistency that eventually led to his departure, an independent committee later named him one of the top 100 Giants players of all time.
The current Giants roster features Nabers, Darius Slayton, Calvin Austin III, Darnell Mooney, and rookie Malachi Fields at receiver, with the team also adding Braxton Berrios to the mix. Beckham's signing provides a veteran presence as the team navigates questions about Nabers' availability for the season opener.
Whether Beckham ultimately makes the 53-man roster remains uncertain, but his return to East Rutherford adds an intriguing storyline heading into training camp.
