Ronald W. Morris, 80, of Limington, remembered for a life of service and adventure

Limington, Maine – Local resident Ronald W. Morris, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2026, after a lifetime of hard work, community involvement, and a love of the outdoors. He was born on Aug. 1, 1946, to Leon and Shirley (Merrifield) Morris and grew up in Bath, Maine, where he was known for his spirited personality.

Morris served four years in the United States Navy, including a stint aboard the USS Myles C. Fox during the Vietnam War. After leaving the service, he became a master plumber and operated his own plumbing business for several decades. Though he never fully retired, he found time to pursue a wide range of hobbies and interests.

“A real character,” said longtime friends and family members. “He was always ready for a good time or a deep conversation.” Morris enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling, and was an avid collector of toy cars. He frequently displayed his classic Corvettes at car shows throughout the state and shared his passion for automobiles with anyone who would listen. He also spent many weekends in the company of friends, sailing yard‑ships in the area and stopping in Bath every Friday for coffee.

Morris and his wife, Rose, traveled often to Florida, where they enjoyed amusement parks, beaches, and the warmth of the summer sun. The couple also found quiet pleasure camping at their favorite spots in Jackman and the West Forks, often with family and friends.

He is survived by his children – Herb Ring, Jessie Waterman (with partner Bob Gryspeerd), Justin Grass, and Zachery Grass (with wife Sonya) – as well as six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and his beloved wife, Rose.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the family’s home. The memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. at Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd., Windham. Funeral services will be conducted at the Lord cemetery, where Morris will be interred.

Morris was a dedicated donor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the hospital in his memory.

Ronald W. Morris’s life reflected a blend of hard work, adventurous spirit, and generous heart. His legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
