WOODSTOCK Ga. – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Albert Petrin, a highly decorated military veteran. SGM (ret) Petrin, formerly of Biddeford, Maine. a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and leader passed away on Sept. 22, 2025. He was born May 30, 1943, son of Ernest and Alfreda (Bourgeault) Petrin.
After graduating from St Louis High School, Roland joined the US Army in 1964 where he served until his retirement in 1993. Roland and Charline were married for over 52 years.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn LeClair, son Dana Petrin (Rachel); granddaughters Nikki Tracchio (Ben), Brandee Webster (Kevin), Makenzi Tully (Damon), grandsons Joshua Petrin (Kierra) and Brian Davison; great grandchildren Wyatt, Emilia, Madilynn, Colton, Aubree, and Jackson; his sister Maggie Gagnon (Ray), and brother Raymond “Petey” Petrin (Barbara).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charline, siblings Marie Pelletier, Rita LaBranche, Patricia Seymour, and Albert Petrin.
Roland we be laid to rest on Sept. 14, 2026, at the Southern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery located at 83 Stanley Road in Springvale, Maine, at noon with full military honors. A reception will follow at the Sanford Elks Lodge at 13 Elm St, Sanford, ME 04073
