Regina (Picard) Minott

SCARBOROUGH – Regina (Picard) Minott, 77, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully at home due to congestive heart failure with her family by her side on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2026.

Reggie was born on Nov. 16, 1948, to Aldric and Ida Picard of Bucksport, Maine. She attended Bucksport Schools and Farmington State College, graduating in 1971 with a teaching degree.

She dedicated her life to a teaching career working in Waterville, Brunswick and Windham, Maine schools. Reggie had a special skill in reaching out to all of her students, making them feel welcomed and respected. It is no wonder that she was honored by receiving a “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” award.

As a working Mom, she steadfastly ensured that her three daughters had the love and nurturance to allow them to thrive. Always present at their school functions, plays, speech tournaments and ball games, Reggie showed her unwavering support.

The sparkle in Reggie’s eyes really glowed when the grandkids came to visit. Memere always had just the right snack or meal ready for their arrival. The “Queen of the Kitchen” was regaled for her famous Chicken Vegetable Soup, Apple Pies and homemade Strawberry Jam. Her house was filled with love and fun times, family dinners, splashing in the pool, puzzle making and card games. Her perfect 29 point hand in a cribbage game with Jim will go unequaled!

Regina’s Catholic Faith was an important part of her life, and she was a long-time parishioner of St. Maximillan Kobe Church in Scarborough, Maine. For many years she sang in the church choir and taught classes in their religious education.

Survived by her husband, Jim, of 52 years. Regina also leaves her three daughters, Sarah Mogan and husband Nate of Windham, Maine, Laura Sanders and husband Ty of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Diana Minott of Shapleigh, Maine. Her grandchildren include Willow and Wyatt Washburn, Wesley Mogan, Kyla Hebert, Miya and Koda Sanders. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Picard and his wife Gayle of Abbot, Maine. Reggie leaves behind countless cousins and the extended Cloutier family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 US Rt 1, Scarborough. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Black Point Road, Scarborough. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

For those planning to attend Reggie’s services please feel comfortable wearing happy, vibrant colors rather than somber black. Her family wishes to celebrate the life she lived rather than to mourn her passing. Let’s make the “Wall of Love” we surrounded her with as colorful as possible!
