Obituary: Raymond Williams

Retired Windham police captain, 62, Raymond Williams, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026. The former officer, who had spent his career serving the town’s residents, passed away at a local medical facility. Friends, family and community members will gather to honor his life on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1:00 p.m. for a funeral service held in the Windham Performing Arts Center at Windham High School, 406 Gray Rd.
The ceremony will be managed by Conroy‑Tully Walker Cremation, Funeral & Gathering Center of Portland, a firm that has long worked with the local police and fire departments to arrange memorials for those who protect the community. Organizers are encouraging attendees to carpool to the venue in an effort to reduce traffic and keep the gathering accessible for all.
Capt. Williams’ obituary, which lists his many years of service, can be viewed online at the funeral home’s website. Those wishing to pay respects are invited to attend the funeral on the 18th, with the expectation that a modest memorial will celebrate his dedication to public safety in Windham and the surrounding area.
