Paula Maureen Bisson

LEWISTON – Paula Maureen Bisson born on May 24, 1951 to Philippe and Doris Laffely, has joined her loving husband in Heaven Aug. 20, 2026.

Paula was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, memere, and patroness to whoever needed a warm meal, soft bed or listening ear.

She met the love of her life when she was only 14 years old near L & P Bisson and Sons farm, a generational family farm tucked in the fields of Topsham. Shortly after meeting they had their first son, following two more sons and a daughter, completing their family circle. They raised their family of four on the farm where together they would teach their children work and learn the way of life in the store and tending the farm.

Paula herself worked numerous years in the meat store, helping make the infamous chicken pie, wrapping meat and tending to thousands of customers over the 40-plus years of dedicated work.

In her bits of spare time she enjoyed ceramics, she would knit blankets, socks and mittens for the many grandchildren she was blessed with. Paula was a very talented cook with many recipes of her own or some passed down from family or French Canadian dishes for her husband from generations before them. Everyone knew anytime they would show up to her table, no matter the time, they would be fed, it was her love language.
