Paul R. Strout
GORHAM – Paul R. Strout of Gorham died unexpectedly on July 21, 2026. He was 83 years old.
He was born in Portland to Raymond and Ruth (Verrill) Strout on Nov. 16, 1942. After Paul graduated from Gorham High School, he continued his education at SMVTI for his associates degree resulting in his becoming a Master Electrician.
While serving in the Navy aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59) during the Vietnam War (EM/BM/Airedale), he was also a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Shooting Team.
He married Karen Grant on June 19,1965.
Paul was predeceased by his parents and older brother Philip W. Strout.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Karen; daughter Lisa Decker (Robert); daughter Laura Ward (Jay); granddaughter Elizabeth Curtis (Lyman); two great-grandsons, Geoffrey Decker and Joshua Curtis; and half brothers, Gary Day (Lisa) and Richard Day (Patricia).
At Paul’s request, there will be no funeral services, only a private, immediate family gathering at a later date.
