NANSA RUSSO, 75, of Kennebunkport, Passes Away After Long Life of Caring and Travel
Kennebunkport, Maine — Nancy Ann Buse Russo, a lifelong nurse and globe‑trotter, died peacefully at her home on June 18, 2026, at 11:06 a.m. The 75‑year‑old was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who touched many lives through her compassion and adventurous spirit.
Nancy was born on January 25, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents Joseph and Betty Buse. She followed her dream of nursing, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing (RN, BSN) from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in 1999. A dedicated professional, she worked at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati before retiring to focus on family and travel.
In 1974, Nancy met Mark Russo while both were employed at Christ Hospital. The pair married on May 1, 1976, and raised two children together—Nikolas and Rachel. The Russo family shared a love of exploration, journeying to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Mexico, and China. Their travels forged lasting memories and a deep appreciation for the world’s cultures.
“She could make friends with a rock,” said a close friend of the family. “Her kindness was limitless.” Friends and relatives remember Nancy as sweet, gregarious, and always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
Nancy is survived by husband Mark, her son Nikolas, daughter Rachel, and grandson Orion, who will miss her deeply. “Her legacy of compassion lives on,” said Mark. “We are grateful for every moment we shared.”
