Michele Trine, 77, of Saco, remembered for her service, volunteer work and love of family, dies

SACO – Michele Trine, the only child of Mildred and Louis Trine, died on May 26, 2026 after a brief illness. The 77‑year‑old, born August 25, 1948, in Annapolis, Maryland, was raised in Andover, Massachusetts, where she lived until the death of her father prompted a move to southern Maine with her mother.

Trine was proud of her father’s military career and kept his medals at home as a reminder of his service. When her mother passed in 2005, Trine became a member of Creative Works support services, a community program that she remained connected to until 2022. That year she transitioned to long‑term care, first at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence (now Fallbrook Commons) in Portland, and more recently this spring to Treat Falls House in Orono. Throughout her time in care she maintained friendships with colleagues from Creative Works, looking forward to their visits.

Before the program’s closure in 2015, Trine worked at Pine Tree Business Solutions in Saco. Her volunteer spirit was equally strong: she spent time with Meals on Wheels, local food pantries, and the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals in Windham, where she loved working with horses. She also enjoyed traveling, especially admiring the skyscrapers of Boston, and often treated friends to Saturday‑morning pancakes.

Family friends recall Trine’s affection for her pets—dogs Candy and Hobo and bird Lucky—as a testament to her gentle nature. After both of her parents predeceased her, Trine became the sole survivor of her family.

The Trine family asks friends and relatives to share memories and tributes at http://www.meaderandson.com. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m.

Michele Trine’s legacy of perseverance and grace will remain a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
