Mary E. Johnson

BIDDEFORD – Mary E. Johnson, of Biddeford, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her daughter, son-in-law, best friend, brother and his wife. She left this world with the same quiet strength that defined her life.

Mary dedicated much of her working life to the restaurant industry, where she worked as a server, cook, and prep cook. She took pride in caring for others through good food, hard work, and the friendships she built along the way. Her warmth, quick wit, and generous spirit made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Music was always close to her heart, and her playlist reflected her vibrant personality -from the timeless sounds of Pink Floyd to the energetic beats of Pitbull. She embraced life with humor and resilience, often living by the philosophy she learned from her father: “No need of it.” Those words became her gentle reminder to let go of worry, unnecessary drama, and the things in life that simply weren’t worth carrying.

Mary’s greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly survived by her devoted daughter, four cherished grandchildren, two beloved great-grandchildren, and her four siblings, all of whom will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members whose lives were enriched by her kindness, laughter, and unconditional love.

Though her absence leaves a profound emptiness, Mary’s spirit will continue to live on through the stories, laughter, music, and love she shared with those around her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she will never truly be gone, as her memory will remain forever in their hearts.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

Mary will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
