Lorraine Kay Genthner

SCARBOROUGH – Lorraine Kay Genthner, 85, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 27, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Born Feb. 3, 1941, to Clarence and Dorothy Moore, Lorraine was a lifelong Mainer who dedicated herself to her family and community.

After raising her two sons, Lorraine worked in the office for Reece Corp in Gorham. She was a woman of many passions, finding joy in skiing, snowmobiling, and gardening. She was also a dedicated supporter of all the boys’ sports, rarely missing a game. In their retirement, Lorraine and her husband Dalton traveled extensively, enjoying numerous cruises with close friends.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her brother Doward, and her son Stuart. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dalton; her son, Jeff, and his wife, Jodie; her granddaughter, Casey, and great-grandson, Jordon Genthner; and her grandson, Zachary, his wife, Megan, and great-grandson, Taggart, of Montana. She also leaves behind her brother, Richard Moore, and sisters, Cathy Holmes and Kimmy Turf, along with many nieces and nephews.

At Lorraine’s request, no formal services will be held. Instead, her family asks that you remember her by embracing the simple pleasures she loved: take a walk in a garden, enjoy the sunshine, have a nice glass of wine, go antiquing, or simply spend time with those you love. She will be deeply missed as a devoted wife, a wonderful mom, and a beloved “meme”.

The family would like to extend a special warm thank you to all of the staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House and Hospice Nurse Adrienne for the amazing care they showed Lorraine and her family during her final hours.
