Obituary: Kathleen Marie (Ridge) Mosley

Portland Community Mourns the Loss of Kathy Mosley, 71
Portland, Maine – The city of Portland lost one of its most beloved residents on September 3, 2026, when 71‑year‑old Kathleen Marie Mosley—known to friends and family as Kathy—passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. The former West End native was a lifelong Portlander who devoted her life to family, neighbors and community.
Kathy was born in Portland on April 29, 1955, the daughter of the late Peter Aloysius Ridge and Dorothy Ellen Adams. She grew up in the city’s West End, attended St. Dominic’s School and graduated from Portland High School in 1973. After high school she married Michael Mosley, and together they were married for almost 48 years. Their partnership was described by those who knew them as a model of love and partnership.
The couple raised two children, daughter Alana Fuller, who is married to Brian, and son Matthew Mosley, who is married to Jenna. Kathy was a devoted mother and grandmother to five grandsons—Colin, Lawrence and Roger Fuller, and Fitzpatrick and Cormac Mosley—who were especially close to her. She also maintained strong bonds with her two older sisters, Michaelene Mifflin and Elizabeth Davies, and with her sister‑in‑law Joellen McGovern.
Kathy’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family. Friends, neighbors and community members recalled her generous spirit, sense of humor and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Many described her as a “bonus mom” to the friends of her children, and her ability to bring people together was a hallmark of her life.
In addition to her family ties, Kathy was an active member of the Portland community. Her long residency in the West End, coupled with her involvement in local organizations, earned her recognition as a pillar of the neighborhood. Her legacy is felt in the many lives she touched, both through her family and through her interactions with neighbors, coworkers and friends.

Kathy Mosley’s passing leaves a profound gap in the lives of her family and friends, but her gentle spirit, kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
