Jeanne Randall
WELLS – Jeanne Randall, 94, passed away on Aug. 11, 2026. The daughter of Louis Salime Marquis and Angeline (Chabot) Marquis, Marie Jeanne Marquis and her two brothers, Roger and the late Louis, Jr., were raised in Springvale, Maine.
Jeanne graduated from Sanford High School in 1949. She attended a Boston beauty academy and then operated a hair salon in her parents’ home.
Jeanne married Andre Chabot in 1954, and they lived in Washington, D.C., while Andy served in the Army. They returned to Sanford to operate the family dairy business. Jeanne was a devoted and loving mother to their four children. She valued and cared deeply for her friends and extended family. Her treasured role was grandmother. Gramma Jeanne was always ready with a warm hug.
In the 1980s, Jeanne thrived as hostess at an upscale Perkins Cove restaurant in Ogunquit. Jeanne married Norman Randall in 1988. They lived in Saudi Arabia for over four years. She traveled widely, to China, Syria, Scotland and Austria. When they returned to the States in early 1990s, they spent winters in Nokomis, Fla., and summers in Wells where she enjoyed daily beach walks to the jetty, well into her 80s.
For the past four years, Jeanne resided at the Avita of Wells memory care neighborhood. The family wishes to thank the staff for their dedication. Additional gratitude is extended to Beacon Hospice Care and the York Hospital staff.
Jeanne is survived by her children Martin, David (and Kathy Ivey), Anne (and Matthew Biette), and Peter (and Linda) Chabot; and her grandchildren, Elise and Ryan Biette, and Jessica (and Tyler) Smith, and Jordan and Ariana Chabot.
A private family service is planned.
