Inger Margareta Ericsson Corson
CHEBEAGUE ISLAND – Inger Margareta Ericsson Corson, born in Sweden on March 13, 1940, began her life-long travel adventure at 16 when she moved to Maine to live with extended family. Inger attended Waynflete School and Westbrook College. She later married David Jackson Corson and they started a family on Littlejohn Island in Yarmouth.
Inger enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with friends and family, gardening, crafts, and fishing. She also loved animals and being in nature. After the passing of her husband in 1998, Inger spent more than 20 summers RVing in Alaska where she fished, gardened, and enjoyed the great outdoors.
Inger’s love of travel took her on many adventures, including hiking Machu Picchu, walking the Great Wall of China and Hadrian’s Wall in England, fishing for halibut in Dutch Harbor, rafting the Grand Canyon, and paragliding in New Zealand. She was kind and generous and charmed people with her mischievous sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughter, Ingrid (Walter), son, Tripp (Alison); granddaughters Emily and Maddy; and brother, Nils Ake.
Inger passed away June 24, 2026, and is now on her next adventure.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth. Please visit [http://www.lindquistfuneralhome.com](http://www.lindquistfuneralhome.com) to leave condolences for the Corson family and share a memory of Inger.
