PORTLAND – Gina Marie Della Valle passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with a rare lung cancer.
Born March 16, 1966, in Portland, Gina was the daughter of Louie DellaValle and the late Linda DellaValle. Gina graduated from McAuley where she was a star tennis player. She worked at her family’s store, other food service jobs, and Hannaford in the bakery department.
Gina met the love of her life Patrick “Pappy” Coyne, married in 1990 and recently celebrated their 36-year anniversary. Gina became a devoted mother to son Patrick in 1989. In 2007, Gina wrote a letter to the Miami Dolphins owner, and he invited the whole family to a Dolphins game, a memory of a lifetime.
Gina loved her dogs, the New England Patriots, and often wore her Harvick hats.
Gina celebrated 22 years of recovery this April and cheered others on to reach out for help.
Gina is predeceased by her mother Linda and brother Peter.
Gina is survived by husband Pappy; son Patrick and his wife Laura; father Louie; uncle Joey; brother Tony, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Maine Health staff for the compassionate care they delivered tirelessly since December.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 9, from 12 to 4 p.m., at the North Deering Tavern at 1349 Washington Ave, Portland.
